Do rabbits need to be in pairs?

Rabbits are naturally sociable, so they need the companionship of their own kind. They will be much happier living in pairs or compatible groups and become very lonely if kept on their own without any rabbits that can keep up with them socializing throughout each day.

It is easiest for owners to introduce household mates from birth; however, there may still come times where you want one rabbit by himself (or maybe even two!). If this sounds like something your pet would enjoy then make sure he has plenty of friends around him at all times!
